Japas 38 is the largest and most popular of the
three Japas locations in NY. It has a fun bar atmosphere in the main room,
where eating and drinking are complimented by raucous karaoke singing, of
course. They have thousands of songs to choose from, in both English and
Japanese, and new songs are added monthly. And for those looking for a little
more privacy, Japas has 12 private rooms on two floors to accommodate both
small and large groups. The restaurant features a full menu of sushi and
izakaya dishes (in association with East restaurant). Every Monday and Tuesday
night, they have the "Karaoke Challenge" in which contestants are
rated on their singing ability for a chance to win free drinks. Japas also has locations at 366 3rd Ave. and
253 W 55 St.
